Hubert MaguireHubert B. “Mac” Maguire, Jr., 86, of Oil City, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at The Caring Place in Franklin.

Born May 15, 1931 in Braddock, PA, he was the son of Hubert B. Maguire, Sr. and Myrna O. Jennings Maguire.

He joined the Air Force in 1950 and served until 1954.

Mac was married to the former Robert M. Vickers and they had two children, William R. Maguire and Diana L. Hillyard.

On June 15, 1956, he was married to the former Rena M. Allen and together they had two children, Gina M. Wagner and Alan B. Maguire.

Mac worked or McDonnell Douglas, The Federal Aviation Administration and worked as a quality control inspector at The National Aeronautics and space Administration during the Apollo program.

He was a member of the Oil City Moose Lodge 78 and was the administrator there from 1995 to 2010. He has received The Pilgrim Degree of Merit, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Mac was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved Pittsburgh sports. Always ready with a witty remark, Mac loved making people smile and laugh. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Rena, his two daughters Diana and Gina, his son Alan, and 9 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son William, and a granddaughter, Kelly.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday in St. Stephen Church with the Rev. John Miller, presiding.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
