BARKEYVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred yesterday on Gibb Road, east of State Route 8, in Barkeyville Borough, Venango County.

Police say around 11:10 a.m., 44-year-old Tanya L. Downs, of Boyers, was traveling west on Gibb Road. As she was driving her 2004 Jeep Liberty into a right curve up a hill, she lost control of it due to ice on the roadway.

The vehicle began to rotate in a clockwise direction and struck the north side ditch with the front of it. The Jeep continued this rotation, struck the ditch with the rear of it, and rolled onto its side where it came to a final rest.

Downs and two passengers — 21-year-old Derek S. Overly and 23-year-old Cody A. Overly, both of Boyers — were using seat belts and were not injured.

Clintonville Volunteer Fire Departmet and B&M Flatbed and Road Services assisted at the scene.
