PRESIDENT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Authorities have released the identity of a deceased body found Wednesday morning in President Township, Venango County.

Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh identified the victim as 56-year-old Frank Thomas Fletcher, Jr., of Oil City.

Rugh told exploreVenango.com that Fletcher died of natural causes.

Rugh was dispatched around 9:16 a.m. Wednesday after Fletcher’s body was found near the intersection of Route 62 and McPherson Road.

“The last time anybody saw him was around 10 p.m. on Tuesday,” said Rugh. “Based on evidence at the scene, he likely died late Tuesday night.”

An autopsy was performed Thursday at 11 a.m. in Erie.

The cause of death has been classified as cardiac-related, according to Rugh.

Franklin-based State Police also assisted in the investigation.
