Irene KozekIrene M. Kozek, 92, of Oil City, PA. ,died at 2:32 P.M. Monday March 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Born Dec. 20, 1924 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late John & Margaret Trzpis Andres.

Irene attended Assumption Schools and was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She was employed by Venango Newspapers for many years, where she worked in the Circulation Department.

Irene enjoyed walking, shopping, working on puzzle books while watching TV and spending time with her family.

A Lifelong member and the oldest member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, Irene was recently awarded the St. John Paul II medal for her lifetime dedication to the church.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Abendroth of Michigan and Cindy Ahlersmeyer & her husband Dan of Erie; three sons, Bob Kozek & his wife Judy of Grove City, OH, Stan Kozek & his wife Wendy of Oil City, and Jim Kozek & his wife Patricia of Charlotte, NC; 5 Grandchildren, Andrew, Tim, Kennedy, Leo, and Teagan Kozek; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Hartle and Cecelia Andres; and by four brothers Michael, Frank, Adam, and Walter (Red) Andres.

Friends will be received in the greeting space at the Assumption B.V.M. Church from 9:00A.M.-10:00 A.M. Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. John Miller, Presiding.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church, 35 Pearl Ave. Oil City, PA. 16301
