Jack Eugene Thompson

Jack Eugene Thompson, 78 of China Grove, NC., formerly of Oil City, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at CMC-NorthEast.

He was born December 17, 1938 in Oil City, PA to the late Margaret Frankenburger Thompson and the late Benjamin Thompson.

Jack served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.

He also worked at Polk Center as a caregiver of the mentally handicapped for 27 years.

He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Edward Thompson and Charles Thompson and his sister Elizabeth “Punch” Thompson.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years Sandra Moyer Thompson of China Grove; son John William Thompson of China Grove; daughters: Brenda Lee Christy Thompson of China Grove, Tammy Evelyn Thompson of China Grove; brother George Thompson of Reading CA, and grandchildren: James Elbert Christy III of China Grove, Bailey Alexis DeGroat of Salisbury, Abagail Rose DeGroat of Salisbury and Christian Lindsey of Brunswick County, NC.

Visitation: 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 15 at North Kannapolis Baptist Church, 312 Locust Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 15 at North Kannapolis Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris O’Guin officiating.

He will be buried at Salisbury National Cemetery.
