Franklin Man Busted for Meth Waives Hearing

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin man waived his preliminary hearing on Wednesday on felony drug charges stemming from a methamphetamine bust.

According to court documents, the following charges against 22-year-old Jacob Robert Hernan of Franklin were waived for court on Wednesday, July 18, in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Hernan is currently free on $30,000.00 unsecured bail.

The case was transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, March 8, 2018, a controlled purchase of methamphetamine was made by a confidential informant under the observation of multiple Drug Task Force Agents at an undisclosed location in Franklin.

The controlled buy was made between Jacob R. Hernan and the confidential informant following arrangements made with Hernan via Facebook messenger.

June 29, 2018 Drug Case

On July 18, Hernan also pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia from a June 29, 2018 case.

Judge Kirtland ordered Hernan to 12-month state supervision for this offense.
