Jacob Whitton, Sr., 75, of Guittonville, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home.

Born in Guittonville on June 17, 1939, he was the son of Allan and Frances Whitton.

He was married July 18, 1959 to Autumn Moore Whitton, who preceded him in death.

Jake was a retired independent truck driver who drove for Sauer Trucking. He enjoyed dairy farming, gardening and wood working.

Survivors include seven children: Jake Whitton, Jr. and his girlfriend, Rhonda, of Watson, Illinois; Cay McDonald and her husband, Tim, of Mode, Illinois; Calvin Whitton and his wife, Donna, of Guittonville; Terry Whitton and his wife, Connie, of Kennedy, New York; Paul Whitton and his wife, Sheri, of Guittonville; Elizabeth Slagle and her husband, Robert, of Newmansville and Cyndi Bauer of Guittonville.

He will be missed by his nine grandchildren: Ethan, Seth and Hannah McDonald; Heidi and Cody Whitton; Isaac and Anna Whitton and Logan and Aurora Bauer. Additional survivors include a brother, Edward Whitton of Oil City; and four sisters: Elmira Whitton of Guittonville; Alice Weingard of Salem, OH; Rosemary Schill of Shippenville and Sue Bayer of Rimersburg.

Family and friends will be received at the Guittonville Cemetery on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, where viewing and funeral services will begin at 1 p.m.

Mr. Whitton’s son-in-law, Tim McDonald, will officiate.

Memorials and donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home to help defray Mr. Whitton’s funeral expenses.

The Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
