James BiltzJames Henry Biltz, 82, of 1468 State Route 157, Oil City, PA., died at 5:38 A.M. December 27, 2016, at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca after a period of declining health.

Born April 5, 1934, in Venus, PA., he was the son of the late Charles & Johanna Uhlott Biltz.

Mr. Biltz was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a paratrooper with the 82 Airborne Division.

James started working for Purity Milk Co. where he worked for 16 years before taking a job with Joy Manufacturing from where he retired after over 30 years of service.

He was married on July 7, 1953, to the former Doris J. Marschinke and she survives.

James was the first basemen for the Venus team in the Hayrake League.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour.

Mr. Biltz was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.

He is survived by two children, Terri Skiba & her husband Daniel of Oil City, Chuck Biltz & his wife Jeanne of Henry’s Bend; three grandchildren, Rose Robinson & her husband Casey of Reston, VA, Joni Keener & her husband Ed of Oil City, Ashley Biltz of Pittsburgh; one great-grandson, Jace Keener.

He is also survived by one brother, Richard Biltz & his wife Gladys of Broken Arrow, OK, and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers Ernie, Bernard, Charles and Art Biltz; and by four sisters, Audine Firster, Alice Schwab, Eleanor Biltz, and Dolores Miller.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday Dec. 30 at 7 P.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Venus, Rev. William Hastings will preside. Worship leader will be Jim Miller.
