James L. Aikens, 85, of 504 Gurney Rd. Franklin, PA. , died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca.
Born Nov. 12, 1931, in Knox Dale, PA. , he was the son of the late Lawrence & Esther Brumgard Aikens.
Jim was a meat cutter for over thirty years, working at Comet, Riverside and retiring from County Market.
In retirement years, Jim worked for PNC Bank as a courier and ran deliveries for a Pharmaceutical company.
He was married in 1995 in Frewsburg, NY to the former Rebecca A. Motter and she survives.
Jim was a member of the Oil City Church of the Nazarene.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jim enjoyed working in his yard and working and remodeling his rental units.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Deal & her husband Lawrence of Oil City, 3 Stepchildren; Leota Perry of Maryland, Larry Westlake & his wife Mary of Seneca, Janet Bartholomew of Union City, Richard Westlake & his wife Billie of Texas, One granddaughter; Tracy Carbaugh & her husband Charley of Cooperstown, and their children Cody, Tyler and Tatum and the following step-grandchildren; Greg Perry, Tiffany McCalmont Beth Edelson, Christine Kulling, Jimmy Westlake, and Katelyn Brunsgaard.
Jim is also survived by two brothers and a sister Ron Aikens & his companion Esther of Franklin Vern Long & his wife Kathy of Elizabeth, PA, Garnett Haggerty of AZ, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, a grandson Samuel Deal, a stepdaughter Trobyann Russ and a step-granddaughter Charlene Westlake.
He was also preceded in death by brothers Merle, Larry, John, Garfield, and sisters Virginia Houser, Jane Ramsey and Dolly Albaugh as well as an infant.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Nov. 25, in the Oil City Church of God with Rev. Brenda Snedden, Pastor, Presiding.
