James N. Greenawalt, Sr.

James N. Greenawalt, Sr., 81, of Fisher, passed away at his home on October 4, 2017.

Born on September 1, 1936, in Clarion, he was the son of the late Merrill and Ruth (Myers) Greenawalt. He was married to the former Vivian Smith, who survives.

Jim was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass in Clarion where he was President of Local 246 and was very active in both negotiating contracts and working to organize other locals. He then went on to work with the G.M.P. International Union across the northeast and in Canada. He was a true union man to all those who knew him.

Jim enjoyed taking time to be with his family and being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his two sons, Kelly Greenawalt, of Knox, and James N. Greenawalt, Jr., and wife Jill, of Fisher; and his two daughters, Jill Seigworth, of Clarion, and Molly Greenawalt, of Fisher. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Ashley, Sean, James III, Eliza, David, Jordan, Tess, Mitchell, and Regan.

In addition to his two parents, Jim was preceded in death by his six brothers, William, Walter, Robert, Richard, Daniel, and Dennis.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion where visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Millcreek Presbyterian Cemetery.
