James R Black Jr.James R. Black Jr., 72 of Cranberry passed away at 9:11 A.M. Saturday February 18, 2017 at his residence and surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pittsburgh on November 3, 1944, he was the son of the late James R. Black Sr. & Marie E. Hynes Black.

Jim attended Connelly Vocational School for Plumbing. Upon graduation, he was initiated in Plumbers Local Union #27 Pittsburgh where he worked for 20 years.

In 1984 he moved to Largo, FL and started a mobile home and painting repair business.

In 1992 he moved to Cranberry and built his house from ground to roof. He was reinstated into Plumbers Local #27 where he worked until he retired in 2006.

He also worked for Coogan Plumbing in Franklin for a period of time.

Jim was a member of F&AM Lodge #316 in Franklin, American Legion Post 0720 in Knox, Plumbers Local #27 Pittsburgh and the Clarion Rod and Gun Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, building & tinkering, and throwing horseshoes.

On September 1, 1984 he married the former Elizabeth A. “Betty” Hazelton and she survives.

Also surviving are four children; James R. Black III (Christine) of Pittsburgh, Sindora M. Warren (William) of Pittsburgh, Patrick D. Mullen of Cranberry, and Jeffery W. Mullen (Stephanie) of Titusville; six grandchildren, Corrie, Zachary, Michael, Billy, David and Evan and a sister, Marie Newmaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Nancy George, Audrey Jean Ott and Carol Jonnet.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. & 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday and 11:00 A.M. – 12:45 P.M. Friday.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randall Frenz, Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
