James Rihel

James D. Rihel, 73, of Boyers, passed away at home on September 28, 2014.

Born June 2, 1941 in Boyers, he was the son of Paul Rihel and Hazel Miller Rihel.

James graduated from Moniteau High School. James retired from Slippery Rock University as a locksmith.

James was past fire chief of Marion Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years, he also was the head of ambulance hall for five years.

He enjoyed shooting his bow and going bowling, he has many trophies in bowling.

He was an excellent roller skater, he and his daughter would go skating when she was younger.

James was especially proud of his three grandsons Patrick, Nicholas and Matthew.

James also was a regular at Kings Family Restaurant in Barkeyville.

James is survived by a daughter Kristy Martino of Boyers, his three grandsons Patrick, Nicholas and Matthew Martino of Boyers; a sister Anne Newburn and her husband Gene of Eau Claire. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Proceeded in addition to his parents is a sister Dixie McKnight and her husband Ralph “Ed” McKnight and a nephew Nathan Newburn.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

Funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 11 am with the Rev. Willard Morse, retired Methodist minister.

Internment will take place at Annadale Cemetery.
