James William Anderson, Jr., 74, of Cochranton, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in Zephyr Hills Florida.

Born, October 1, 1943, in Sugarcreek, he was the son of James and Effie Patterson Anderson, Sr. He married Paula Manning on June 16, 1962, and she survives.

He was a 1961 graduate of Franklin High School and their Vocation Technical School. After graduation he served with the US Air Force in Germany from 1961-1964.

James worked at Joy Manufacturing from 1967 until he retired in 1991. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, was a former 4H Leader and enjoyed spending time in Florida.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, his children, William Anderson and his wife Christy of Cochranton, L. Scott Anderson and wife Lisa of Utica, Jeffrey Anderson and wife Shannon of Utica and Wendy Anderson and her husband Fred of Utica. Grandchildren, Crystal, Katie, Tiffany, Bethany, Christopher, Megan, Justin, Shane, Anthony, four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Lauren, Maddie and Isaac Scott, and a sister, Carol Gongaware of Cochranton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Jerry Gongaware.

There are no calling hours or services scheduled. A Memorial Service will be at a later date.

The Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., Cochranton is in care of arrangements.
