Jane BullmanJane G. Bullman, 82, of Karns City, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 15, 2017 at Parker Personal Care.

Born in Eldorado, Parker Twp., Butler Co. on February 26, 1935, Jane was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Karnes Alworth.

Jane graduated from Bruin Borough-Parker Twp. Joint High School in 1953. She attended the PA School of Business in Butler.

She worked for six years at the Butler Telephone Company. She also worked along side her husband as a notary public.

After raising her children, she began babysitting and continued for 36 years, becoming known as “Aunt Jane” to many children. Jane had a long and affectionate relationship with the children she babysat.

Jane was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and served as councilwoman for Karns City Borough.

She was very active in her children’s lives, having volunteered with the Chicora Bluetones Marching Group and serving as a Girl Scout leader and den mother. She planned many school proms for her children and always put them first in her life.

She was married on February 1, 1954 to Clarence D. “Duke” Bullman. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1992.

Jane is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Reedy and her husband, Richard, of Virginia Beach, VA and Barbara S. Hillebrand and her husband, Rob, of Herndon, VA; a son, Thomas L. Bullman and his wife, Stacy, of Karns City; two grandchildren, Matthew C. Hillebrand, a freshman at Syracuse University and Kacey N. Hillebrand, a sophomore at Herndon High School; a number of nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, and numerous children she babysat.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Robert Alworth; a sister, Mary Rose Wade, and her dog, Boo Boo.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Glenn Kohlhepp, former pastor of the Karns City United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
