Jane I. Thomas, 73, of The Caring Place, Franklin, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Jane was born in Stamford, CT on September 4, 1943. She was a daughter of the late William D. and Norma E. Johnson Thomas.

She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, San Antonio, TX in 1961, and then moved with her family to Oil City, PA.

Jane worked at the Franklin Hospital as a laboratory technician for 31 years. She also worked as a cashier at Shop ‘n Save for many years.

She is survived by a sister Susan T. Crowther and her husband, James, of Seneca, PA, and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Thomas of State college, PA; six nieces and a nephew: James D. Crowther of Raleigh, NC, Jennifer Gopalakrishnan of Richmond, VA, Megan Ralph of Dempsytown, PA, Emily Glaser of Cleveland, OH, Sarah Zipf of State College, PA, and Rachel Brunswick of Birmingham, AL.

Also surviving are nine great nephews, and five great nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Thomas.

A special thank you goes to the FoxTales of Franklin, PA. They were not only friends, but extended family to Jane.

There will be no visitation.

A private committal service will take place at a later date.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
