Janet BieryJanet Elder Biery, 99, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Franklin, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Westminster Towers and Shores of Bradenton.

She was born on April 3, 1917 in Saybrook, Pennsylvania to the late Clyde Willis and Bessie Olive (Templeton) Elder.

Janet was the co-owner with her late husband of Biery Insurance Agency in Franklin.

She was also a loving mother and substitute teacher at Franklin High School and Rocky Grove High School.

She loved musical theater, working crosswords, and was an avid bridge player. She belonged the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.

Janet was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Harry Eugene “Gene” Biery, Jr. in January of 2007, and a daughter Betsy Ann Biery in 1968.

She is survived by her loving children; Thomas Eugene Biery and his wife Linda of Houston, Texas, Richard Templeton Biery of Albuquerque, New Mexico, daughter, Barbara Biery Barlow of Bradenton, Florida, seven grandchildren; Elizabeth Biery Arney and her husband Aidan of Houston, Texas, Megan Biery Martorello and her husband Raphael of Denver, Colorado, Heather Biery Wellner and her husband Matt of Crested Butte, Colorado, Charlie Biery and his wife Holly of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jessica Barlow of Asheville, North Carolina, Matt Biery of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rich Biery and his wife Shannon of Madison, Indiana, nine wonderful great-grandchildren; Chance, Ashley, Regan and Jordan Arney, Jackson and Kate Martorello, Juliette Wellner, Finley and Alistair Biery, and many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Huff Funeral Home, 312 West Park Street, Franklin, Pennsylvania with a Celebration of Janet’s life to follow at 11:00 A.M.

Inurnment will follow at the Sunset Hill Memorial Garden where Janet will be buried next to her beloved husband.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, 1250 Elk Street, Franklin, Pennsylvania 16323 in her memory.
