Janet M. Dinger of Northview Drive, Brookville, beloved wife of Harold F. (Pete) Dinger, and daughter of Cloyd (Link) Lingenfelter and Ruby Diener Lingenfelter, passed away from natural causes on Thursday, November 28, 2013.

She was 78 years old and had been a resident of the Jefferson Manor for the past four years.

Janet was born in Brookville, PA on April 3, 1935, and graduated as salutatorian from Brookville Area High School in 1953. She was married to Pete Dinger in 1954 and lived in Brookville, PA where they raised their family.

Janet spent 35 years as a secretarial assistant in the Brookville Area School District at the Northside Elementary School before retiring in 2003. During that time she also managed the Pinecrest Country Club kitchen and dining room for 20 years. She was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brookville.

In addition to her husband, Pete Dinger, she is survived by two sons, Thomas Dinger of Sunnyvale, CA, Timothy Dinger of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Surviving also are seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Douglas Dinger.

Janet will be very missed by her loving husband, Pete, her children, friends, and extended family and will be remembered for her kindness, love, and care to all who knew her.

Friends will be received Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 2:00 – 9:00 PM at the McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville.

Services will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church on 150 Franklin Avenue in Brookville at 1:30 PM.

Interment will follow in the St. John’s (Windy Hill) Cemetery in Rose Township, Jefferson County, PA.
