Jean M. Cornelius, 81, of Scott Road, Emlenton, passed away Wednesday morning, February 24, 2016 at Trinity Living Center in Grove City.

Jean was born on Pittsburgh’s South Side on June 19, 1934. She was the daughter of the late George and Marie Kuhn. Jean graduated from Carrick High School. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing and collecting dolls. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton and the Scrubgrass Senior Center.

Jean was married in Pittsburgh on June 26, 1954 to William J. Cornelius. Mr. Cornelius preceded her in death on July 20, 2015.

Jean is survived by eight children, Richard Cornelius and his wife, Joanne, of Emlenton, Peggy Wilcox and her husband, Martin, of Espyville, David Cornelius and his wife, Johnna, of Monroeville, Beth Redling and her husband, Joseph, of Plum Borough, Carolyn Barlow of Dothan, Alabama, William Cornelius and his wife, Jodie, of Montana, Vicky Marie Cornelius of Verona, and John C. Cornelius and his wife, Robyn, of Industry; twenty-one grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and in addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Street, Emlenton, with the Rev. William R. Barron, officiating. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Emlenton.
