Jeanne SchattauerJeanne L. Schattauer, 89, of 514 W Frist St, Oil City, went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Born July 31, 1926 in Buffalo NY, she was a daughter of the late Cyril L. and Lula Louise Eckel Bird.

She moved to Oil City from Pittsburgh 43 years ago.

Jeanne attended Sugarcreek United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed crafts, sewing, crossword puzzles and loved her family.

On November 27, 1946 she married Richard F. Schattauer, who preceded her in death on February 19, 1987.

Surviving are three sons, Richard F. Schattauer, Jr. and wife Marlene of Seneca, Frederick Schattauer and wife Joyce of Oil City, and Thomas Schattauer of Preston CT; four daughters, Sandra Malek of Oil City, Carol Shipwash and husband Craig of Franklin, Kathleen Schattauer of Pittsburgh, and Jeanne Putnam of Oil City; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Cyril J. Bird and David Bird; two sisters, Joy Allshouse and Naomi Limbrunner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Bird, Frank Bird and Harry Bird, and one sister, Ruth Schmidt.

There will be no visitation.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday in the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Kostur, officiating.

Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church Building Fund.
