Jerry E. Gaiser, 64, of Craigsville Rd. Worthington, passed away late Sunday evening, June 28, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Jerry was born in Kittanning on September 16, 1950. He was the son of the late Elton M. and Lenora (Hindman) Gaiser. He was a 1968 graduate of Worthington West Franklin High School. Mr. Gaiser served in the United States Army Reserves. Jerry retired in 2011 as an instrument technician from Indspec Chemical Corp. in Petrolia following more than 35 years of service. He enjoyed golfing and working outside around his house. Jerry’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family; he cherished the role of husband, dad, and pap.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Katilavas) Gaiser whom he married in Worthington on May 29, 1971. He was the proud father of three sons, Scott L. Gaiser and his wife Mary Jo, Christopher M. Gaiser and his wife Allison all of Worthington, and Cory M. Gaiser and his wife Amanda of Washington. He was a proud “Pap” or “Pappy” to six grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Isabella, Amylia Grace, Nathan, and Natalie. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Long her husband Kenneth of Kittanning, and Susan Ewing and her husband Roger of Punxsutawney. Also surviving is his father in law and mother in law, Milton “Mick” and Alene Crouch of Worthington, a brother in law and sister in law, John L. and Sally M. Wolfe of Fenelton, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Mae Wolfe, a brother Henry C. Gaiser and his father-in-law Peter G. Katilavas.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd. Chicora, from 7-9pm today (Tuesday) and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday from the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Chicora officiating. Interment will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mr. Gaiser’s name may be made to the Worthington — West Franklin Community Library, P.O. Box 85 Worthington, Pa 16262.
