Joann Louise Hoover Edwards, 65, Punta Gorda, Fl, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 1, 2019. Her loving husband Denny was by her side.

Born on May 6, 1953. Joann was the daughter of the late John and Rita (Farabaugh) Hoover. Joann was preceded in death by her sisters, Myrna Hoover, Carol Young, and Becky Osmolinski; brothers Bill, Russ, and Eddie Hoover.

She is survived by her faithful husband, William “Denny” Edwards; daughter Jennifer Bidoli (Steve); sons, Vaughn Lewis, Brad Lewis (Jerome), and Andrew Craig (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Amarah Bidoli, Anna Bidoli, Matthew Bidoli, Magnus Lewis, Verra Lewis-Mechling, Lachlan Lewis; great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace-Delores Bidoli; step-daughters, Audra Favre (Matt), Joanna Powell (Marvin), Traci Nutson (Kevin); step-grandchildren, Tyler Favre (Hailey), Ryan Favre, Noah Powell, Eli Powell, Kyle Nutson, Corey Nutson; step-great grandson Kreed Favre; brothers, Bob Hoover, Jake Hoover, Ron Hoover (Mary) and Ken Hoover (Margo); sisters, Alma Grossman (Jerry), Terry Dean (David), Jeannie Phister (Tim), Lois Stoltz (Tim), brothers and sisters in law, Jane Hoover, Ron Osmolinski, Dick Young and Cheree Hoover, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, to whom she was known and adored by as “Aunt Jo.”

Joann was a devout Christian whose passion was to seek God’s presence. She was a faithful servant and lived her life as an example of Christ to those around her. Most recently she was a member of Gate Way Worship Center in Punta Gorda, Fl. Prior to that, she worshiped at New Hope Church in Clarion, PA. For many years Joann worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, both in-home care and at assisted living facilities.

Joann had a special knack for decorating and detail. Her unique touch was evident in her clean and tidy home. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved preparing meals and desserts for her family. A real homemaker, Joann always made others feel warm and welcomed when in her presence. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out, a loving friend to many, and will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, Rev. Collin Koch, officiating. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto.
