Jody SlaterJody L. Slater, 46, of Knox passed away Friday February 24, 2017, after suffering a stroke which resulted in a minor traffic accident.

Born December 31, 1970, in Clarion, Jody was the son of Larry Slater and the late Donna Hepler Slater.

Jody graduated from Keystone High School and Triangle Tech in Dubois.

He worked in housekeeping in the Clarion Hospital and was the janitor for the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Jody also mowed the lawns of several Knox residents.

Jody earned his Eagle Scout through Troop 56 in Knox.

He collected pictures and figures of raccoons and eagles.

He was a member at St Paul’s UCC where he enjoyed participating in events.

Jody is survived by his father and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Along with his mother Jody was preceded in death by his Grandparents John and Gladys Hepler and Edgar and Carolyn Slater.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 E. Penn Ave., Knox, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 937 Twin Church Road, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with the Rev. Ken Tack officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Paul’s Union Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
