John Edward Conner, Jr. of Shippenville passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2017, after a long, courageous battle with Friedreich’s ataxia.

He was 43 years old.

John, or “John Boy,” was born on November 13, 1973, in Clarion, the son of the late John E., Sr., and Rose A. (Ansel) Conner.

He graduated from Keystone High School and then worked for County Market grocery store for many years until the store closed.

John enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, taking pleasure in their company and their visits.

John is survived by his mother, Rose A. Gould and her husband, James, of Shippenville; his sister, Lori Green, of Johnsonburg; his niece, Kayla Green, of St. Marys; his favorite uncle, Richard Wolbert, Sr., and his special cousin and aunt, John William Ansel, III and Linda Ansel.

He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, John and Minnie Ansel; and Harold and Louise Conner; his brother, Kevin Paul Conner; and his aunt, Janet Wolbert.

Special thanks to Emmy and Josh and the staff of the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice, Dr. Tim Brooks, Dr. Sergio Giancola, and the staff at Clarion Hospital EMS.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion.

There will be no public visitation or viewing.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family, at the graveside at Scotch Hill Cemetery.
