John Hilton, 73, of Acworth, GA, passed Monday, April 23, 2012, at his residence under hospice care.

John was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania, on September 1st, 1938, to Orrin and Annetta Hilton.

John served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the J.F.Swartsel Lodge #251and the Order of Eastern Star in Lutz, Florida, Scottish Rite, a member of the Shriners in Tampa and a member of the Acworth United Methodist Church. John also served as the president of the McEver Park Homeowners Association. He will be remembered for his attention to details, always willing to help others and his sense of humor.

John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Hilton; three children; his daughter Anna Mixon and her husband Todd, his son John Raymond Hilton, Jr., his daughter Debbie Carlisle and her husband Keith; his grandchildren; Ashley Mixon, Bradley Mixon and his wife Abbey, Courtney Mixon, Amanda Hilton, Tanner Hilton, Zack Hilton, Tyler Carlisle and Alex Carlisle; his brothers Don Hilton and Dewayne Hilton; his sister Bonnie Oakes; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Acworth United Methodist Church on Friday, April 27th with visitation beginning at 9:30am and service at 10:00am. The Military Honors Memorial service will be held immediately following at 12:00 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Family will receive visitors during the afternoon at the home of John and Helen Hilton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts to Mayo Clinic to support renal cancer research. These gifts will be made in memory of Mr. John Hilton.
