KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — The John Winkler Memorial Car Cruise will take place on Saturday, August 22, in Knox as part of the Knox Horsethief Festival events.

The car cruise will occur from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. along Main Street in Knox.

Event organizer Bill Nebinksi said while Horsethief Week has regularly included car cruises, this will be the first year the event will be conducted in memory of Winkler.

“He was a local car builder, and I’m guessing he probably worked on 80 percent of the cars we’ll see in the cruise,” Nebinski said.

Those wishing to participate need only to show up.

The first 125 participants will receive dash plaques honoring Winkler.
