Jon Charles Burlingame, of Tavares, Florida passed away on July 19, 2017.

He was 68 years old.

Jon was born on May 17, 1949, the son of Charles and Ila Burlingame, and was raised in Cooperstown, Pennsylvania.

He was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and Youngstown State University.

Jon spent most of his years in Atlanta, Georgia as a salesman for Kendall Motor Oil.

He moved to Tavares in 2008.

He had a passion for life that included his friends, rounds of golf, woodworking, yard work and travel & sports.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tavares where he served as liturgist; a member of United Methodist Men; usher & greeter; and the Tuesday Work Crew.

He is remembered and will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 46 years, Debbie Burlingame; daughter Mandy Fernandes (Yanis) of Erie, Colorado; daughter Megan O’Brien (Brandon) of Bethlehem, Georgia; sister Jayne Russell (Joe); brother Jim Bates (Loretta); and five grandchildren, Charles Fernandes, Cuinn O’Brien, Emily Fernandes, Fainne O’Brien, and Adam Fernandes.
