Joseph A. Lupinacci

Joseph A. Lupinacci, 83, of Titusville, PA., passed away on Sunday, May 27, at his residence.

Joe was born on August 25, 1934, in Sewickley, PA., as the son of the late Genarro and Rose (Brancato) Lupinacci. He was married to Caryl A. LeJeune for the past 48 years. They were married at St. Alphonsus Church in Clintonville, PA.

Joe was a graduate of Sewickley High School and had attended Clarion University.

He was a veteran, having served in the US Army from November 9, 1954, to October 12, 1956.

Joe was a part of a long family tradition of being a chef. He was an executive chef, having worked at many restaurants including: the World’s Fair; Firestone Country Club; was food and beverage manager for all of the Ohio State Parks and lodges within the parks; employed at the prestigious William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh; the Pittsburgh Convention Center; and was head chef for 18 years with his wife at Cross Creek Resort in Titusville until his retirement in 1999.

Joe was an athlete, having played football at Sewickley High School and at Clarion University. He also played football while enlisted in the US Army and also enjoyed boxing in his earlier years.

Joe was a member of St. Titus Church, the Knights of Columbus, and of the Titusville Moose Club #84. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and being outdoors. In addition, he was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.

Joe is survived by his wife Caryl of Titusville; two sons, Joseph Lupinacci of Titusville and Harry Lupinacci and wife, Denise, of Ambridge, PA.; five grandchildren, Matthew Olson, Daniella Robichaud, Nicholas, Giovonni, and Lauren Mae Lupinacci; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Elijah, and Gianni Olson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was the last of his immediate family and was preceded in death by brothers Sam “Big Apple”, Vince, Romeo, Harry, and Jim Lupinacci. In addition, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Annie Lupinacci, Rose Salerto, Georgina Smith, and Babe Kutcher.

Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, at St. Titus Church located on West Main Street, Titusville, PA. Fr. Walter E. Packard will act as celebrant.

Interment will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery in Sewickley, PA.
