Joseph D. Buzard

Joseph D. Buzard, 71 of Knox, passed away Thursday Oct. 23, 2014 at UPMC Northwest Hospital. Born December 11, 1942 in Oil City, he was the son of Fred and Bessie Keely Buzard. On August 21, 1964 Joe married Barbara Rapp whom he celebrated 50 years with.

Joe graduated from Keystone High School and then joined the Army. After serving in the Army he worked several different jobs before going to work for Pennsylvania Electric Co. which he retired from. Joe loved to watch his grandson’s sporting events. He also enjoyed his fishing and hunting buddies and spending time on the family farm. Joe was a member of the Knox American Legion Post 720, the Clarion County Rod & Gun Club and the Edenburg Lodge #550. He also volunteered many hours over 12 years for the Knox Ambulance Co, where he served as chief for many years.

Along with his wife Joe is survived by a daughter Renee (Michael) Lencer of Cranberry, a son Fred (Diana) Buzard of Emlenton and four grandchildren; Joshua Lencer, Adam Lencer, Joseph J. Buzard and F. Paul Buzard. Also surviving are two nephews Rodney Buzard of Florida and Mark Buzard of Alabama. Along with his parents Joe was preceded in death by a daughter Anita Buzard and two brothers Jack Buzard and Eugene Buzard.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday Oct. 24 at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 E. Penn St., Knox, and from 10 to 11 am Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Salem Lutheran Church, 2057 Pennsylvania 208, Lamartine. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the church with the Rev.
