Joyce A. Scott, 55, of Oil City, PA., died at 7:36 P.M. Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, in her home after an extended illness.

Born Nov. 13, 1961, in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late John & Virginia Small Hanby.

Joyce graduated from Oil City High School in 1979 and later graduated from Venango Technology Center’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program in 2002.

Her working career began at the Derrick newspaper and ended with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

She was married on Oct. 17, 1990, to Thomas A. Scott and he survives.

Animals were her lifetime passion and she leaves behind Mama Kitty, Naughtya, Samantha and Winky, her beloved cats.

She is survived by two brothers and their wives, Mike & Elva Hanby of Grove City, Rick & Suzy Hanby of Mohnton; one sister, Deb Hanby of Cleveland, OH; and by several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

She is also survived by very special friends, whom she loved and adored and could not have taken this journey without, Susan Roach, Jeanette Uhl and Becky Kelley.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Burial with Committal prayers will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens on Wednesday with Fr. John Miller, Presiding.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced at a later time.
