Joyce S. Lilly, formerly of Clarion, passed away on March 26, 2019 at Premier at Perry Village in New Bloomfield where she had been residing. Joyce was 93 years of age.

Born on May 20, 1925, in Bristol, Bucks County PA, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Miriam (Blumfield) Riley. In June 1956, in Ogden, MD, she married Irving Lilly who has preceded her in death.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Beth Gwin (Bruce) of Hershey, and Janet Brocani (Juiano) of Italy; and two grandchildren, Bradley and Brooke. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Demme of Florida.

In addition to her parents, William and Miriam, and her husband, Irving, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, William Riley.

Joyce received her Bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg Teacher’s College, now Shippensburg University of PA, and later her Master’s degree from Temple University. Locally, she worked at the Clarion Riverview Intermediate Unit #6 for several years and a psychologist and social worker.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Brookville Civic Club, and active with the Girl Scouts of America.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion. As per Joyce’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services.
