June Louise Austin

June Louise Austin, 86, formerly of 1220 Chestnut Street, passed away at The Caring Place on August 14th, 2017 at 3:35 am.

Born on April 13th, 1931 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Daisy May Beers Austin.

In her younger years, she worked in the laundry and cleaning industry.

June loved the Senior Center, playing bingo and being with her family and church. She was a one time member of the Creekside Center in Oil City and attended the Salvation Army. She was a beloved mother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter Roxann Rankin and husband William of Franklin; her sons John Lee Austin and wife Maureen of Langhorn, PA and Richard Earl Austin and wife Doris of Enterprise, AL; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Gloria Shoffstall of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, June was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Lillian Austin and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

A special “Thank You” to the wonderful hospice staff of the VNA Hospice and all the staff at the Caring Place for taking such wonderful care of our mother

Friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 16 at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Gary Atkinson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove officiating.

Interment will be at the Franklin Cemetery.

The family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Venango VNA Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd, Franklin, PA 16323.
