Franklin Woman Accused of Failing to Seek Medical Help After Drunk Juvenile Passes Out

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — According to Oil City Police, an incident of Endangering Welfare of Minors occurred on Fern Drive, in Oil City, Venango County.

Oil City Police Officers were dispatched to Fern Drive for an incident of a possible alcohol poisoning. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile unconscious. The juvenile was transported to UPMC for evaluation and medical treatment, police say.

After investigation, it was allegedly found that 28-year-old Amanda Pugliese, of Franklin, supplied two juveniles alcohol and permitted them to drink in her presence, according to police.

It was also learned that Pugliese allegedly did not contact emergency services when one of the juveniles became sick and passed out from drinking a large amount. A third party contact 911 after learning about the situation, police say.

The incident occurred around 3:48 p.m. on February 7, 2015.

The following charges were filed via summons through Judge Fish’s office:

  • two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Minors, Misdemeanor
  • two counts of Furnishing Alcohol to Minors

No other information was provided.
