Kaitlyn AceyKaitlyn Rose Acey, 11, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Clarion Hospital.

Shortly after birth, Kaitlyn suffered from a traumatic brain injury and for the last eleven years, she battled this with dignity and courage while maintaining a glowing smile.

Kaitlyn was born on March 17, 2006 in Clarion; daughter of Brian and Jodie Bell Acey of Clarion.

She was a student at Clarion Area Elementary School and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion.

Kaitlyn loved listening to music, she also enjoyed dancing to 80’s music with her mom, dad, siblings and close friends, swimming, and interacting and visiting with family and friends. Kaitlyn taught her family and all who came in contact with her what was important about life.

Kaitlyn is survived by her parents, her grandparents, Bob and Kathy Bell of Clarion and Janet Acey of Houtzdale, a great grandmother, Evadean Williams of Coalport ,her siblings, Cassandra “Cassie”, Brian Jr., Allison, and Ethan all at home, a great friend and daily companion, Diana Brown, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who all loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael Acey.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion and also from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Clarion.

Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church with the Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor presiding.

Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Clarion Area School district’s Music department.
