Karen AyotteKaren Marie Ayotte, 67, of 12 Woodside Ave., died at 7:13 pm Sunday, April 23, 2017 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born August 21, 1949 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Gladys Harrison Koziara.

Karen graduated from Oil City High School in 1967. She then achieved an Associates degree in business.

She was employed at K-Mart for over 25 years and was employed as a food preparer at Oakwood Heights for 10 years.

Karen was a member of the Cornerstone Bible Church in Oil City where she was very involved and participated in bible studies and women’s groups.

Her hobbies included spending time with her friends, sewing, and knitting. She enjoyed creating blankets and quilts for people who touched her heart. She enjoyed belonging to a bowling league and attending events and shows by the Studebaker Club with her companion James. Karen was a member of the Moose, Pulaski, VFW and PNA clubs.

Karen especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jerry D. Ayotte, who died October 10, 2004.

Surviving is her companion, James Kammerdiener of Dempseytown; a son Christopher Ayotte and wife Christina of Nashville, TN, three daughters, Jennifer Proper and husband Mark of Guys Mills, Jaime Hanley and wife Megan of Beaufort, SC and Stephanie M. Ayotte and companion Jay Arias of Oil City; 4 grandchildren, Andrea Ayotte, Dylan Proper, Liam LaVerde and Joel Arias.

Also surviving are two brothers, John Koziara of Corry and Michael Koziara of Bakersfield, CA and a sister Rita Atkinson and husband Gary of Corry.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 407 W First St., Oil City, with Rev. Tim Tygert, pastor, officiating.

Memorials in Karen’s name may be made to the Cornerstone Bible Church.
