Karns City Softball Downs A-C Valley

WEST FREEDOM, Pa. (D9Sports) – In the continuation of a game suspended by rain April 25, Karns City picked up a 13-5 road win over A-C Valley.

The Gremlins went up 7-0 back in April before watching A-C Valley cut the deficit to 7-5 after five innings Wednesday. But Karns City scored three in the sixth and three more in the seventh to put the game on ice.

Mackenzie Dunn’s grand slam back in April helped Karns City to the early lead, and Dunn finished the split game 1-for-1 with four walks, four RBIs and four runs scored.

Ashley Fox and Garrah Milochik added doubles for the Lady Gremlins with Fox going 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI and Milochik going 1-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Also for Karns City, Alyssa Stitt scored three times while going 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks, Kate Allen drove in a pair of runs while going 1-for-2 with a walk, Taylor Ekis was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Brittney Friters walked three times and scored twice.

Cami McNany went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for A-C Valley with Kylie Eaton going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Dunn got the win going 3 ⅔ innings in relief of Logan Byers. She allowed four runs, all earned, on eight hits and four walks while striking out four. Byers gave up an earned run on a hit and two hit batters while striking out three in 3 ⅓ innings of work.
