Kathryn “Katie” E. Berlin

Kathryn “Katie” E. Berlin, 88, of Oil City, died peacefully, September 16, 2018, at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 11, 1930, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Helen Collins Sigworth.

A 1948 graduate of Oil City High School, she worked as a secretary and receptionist for Seneca Printing, retiring after 21 years.

Katie was a member of St. Stephen Church and the St. Stephen Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards, doing word searches, and going to casinos and loved going out for dinner.

On November 8, 1952, she was married in St. Stephen Church by Msgr. Kelly to Frederick D. Berlin, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2000.

Surviving is a daughter, Mary Kay Berlin of Oil City.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Walt Gill.

Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in St. Stephen Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, c/o Donations at 286 S. Main St., Seneca, PA 16346, or to the charity of one’s choice.
