Kathy Mae Swartzfager

Kathy Mae Swartzfager, age 54, of Venus, passed away early Sunday morning, September 10, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, following an extended illness.

Born November 29, 1962, in Oil City, she a daughter of Mary Hepler Vickers of Knox and the late Ronald Vickers.

Kathy was a 1980 graduate of Keystone High School and was a member of the school choir.

She married Gary Swartzfager on June 27, 1980, and he survives.

Kathy did volunteer work at the Pine Grove School for many years and loved to fish, ice fish, hunt, and crochet.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and mother, Kathy is survived by one daughter, Kasey Schultz and her husband, Jeremy, of Pine City; three brothers: John Vickers and his wife, Pam, of Polk; Timothy Vickers and Sherry Frankenburger of Franklin and William Vickers of Knox and a sister, Lynn Fulton and her husband, Max, of Shippenville;

Also surviving are her special nieces and nephews: Adam and Chris Vickers, Angela (Daryl) Looymans and boys; Jessica (Brett) Walters, Kayla Fulton, and Rori, Tanner and Mattie Vickers; a step grandson, Jonathan; a grandbaby on the way and her two labs, Jake and Sadie.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Vickers; grandparents, Albert and Caroline Buchannan Vickers and John and Gladys Hepler and In-laws, John and Dorothy Swartzfager.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 937 Twin Church Road, Knox.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ with the Reverend Ken Tack officiating.

Interment will follow in the Perry Chapel Cemetery in Elk Township, Clarion County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help with Kathy’s expenses may be sent to the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., P.O. Box F, Knox, PA 16232.
