Kay A. Hile, 77, of Chicora, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Kay was born in Huey, Clarion County, on July 12, 1940. She was the eldest daughter of the late Rev. George and Doretha Bowser.

Kay lived in several small communities around Pennsylvania as her father was assigned to pastor the churches of those communities. She graduated from Karns City High School, where she also met the love of her life, her husband, Robert G. Hile Sr. Bob and Kay were married by the Rev. Hulbert Bowser at the Church of God of Prophecy in Karns City on February 6, 1959.

Kay was an accomplished piano player and singer and was always very active for the Lord through her church work. Currently, she was a member of Family Life Ministries/Church of God of Prophecy in Butler, where her son, Bobby, and his wife, Bonnie, pastor. Kay and her husband, Bob, enjoyed traveling for several years, and have spent the last few years at home enjoying time with each other and their family.

In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by three children, Tammy Croyle and her husband, Charlie, of Hooker, Bobby Hile and his wife, Bonnie, of Six Points, and Cindy Ekis and her husband, Dan, of Fairview; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, with another on the way; two sisters, Darlene Foley and her husband, Bill, of Virginia and Sonya Stang and her husband, Kurt, of Leechburg; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Barry and Barb Hile of Chicora, as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oliver and Grace McElravy Hile, her brother-in-law William J. Hile Sr., and her sister-in-law, Lucy Dollar.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 2 — 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Bishop Joe Parker of the Church of God of Prophecy, officiating.

A private graveside service will follow later that day at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Twp., Armstrong Co. with Church of God of Prophecy Bishop Ronald Roudebush Sr., officiating.
