Kennerdell Man Jailed for Burglary, Theft of Gun, Crossbow

ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Kennerdell man is facing felony charges after he was allegedly found in possession of items taken during a burglary in Rockland Township.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 23-year-old Devon Scott Anthony, of Kennerdell:

– Burglary – Overnight Accommodation, Present, Felony 1
– Possession Of Firearm Prohibited, Felony 1
– Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure, Felony 2
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Felony 2 (11 counts)
– Receiving Stolen Property, Felony 2 (11 counts)

According to a criminal complaint, on Friday, December 27, Trooper Marvin, of the Franklin-based State Police, was assigned to investigate a possible burglary at a residence on the 1900 Block of Jackson Center Polk Road in Mineral Township, Venango County.

During the investigation it was discovered a Barrett crossbow, seven two-way radios, a Hummingbird GPS Fish finder, a Brown bolt action shotgun, flashlights, and other items were stolen from the residence sometime between December 14 and December 27.

The complaint notes that on Sunday, December 29, Trooper Behe was assigned to investigate drug activity and a possible overdose in the 300 block of Main Street in Rockland Township, Venango County.

While investigating the drug incident, Trooper Behe discovered Devon Scott Anthony committed the burglary on Jackson Center Polk Road, according to the complaint.

Anthony was allegedly found with property from the burglary, including the shotgun.

According to the complaint, Anthony then confessed to numerous burglaries within Venango and Mercer Counties.

He was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, December 29.

Unable to post $40,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, in Venango County Central Court.
