ROCKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Kennerdell woman who allegedly broke into a Rockland Township home and repeatedly struck the resident waived her preliminary hearing in court on Wednesday.

According to court documents, the following charges against 38-year-old Stacey Lynn Nichols were waived for court on Wednesday, September 18:

– Burglary — Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Nichols remains free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

According to a criminal complaint filed on September 9 by Trooper Owens, of PSP Franklin, he was dispatched to a residence on Hornberg Raod, in Rockland Township, Venango County, for an assault on September 9.

Upon Trooper Owens’ arrival, he made contact with a known woman who related that Stacey Nichols and another known person came to her residence unwelcomed and unannounced.

She then related that Nichols had let herself into the residence and then pushed open the door to the kitchen area where she was located. The victim then reported that an argument ensued, and Nichols charged her and began punching and hitting her repeatedly.

According to the complaint, Trooper Owens observed that the victim’s left eye was swollen and was beginning to turn black and blue. She also had a scratch on the left side of her nose and an abrasion on her left cheek.

The victim also had a recording which Trooper Owens reviewed that confirmed the incident, the complaint states.

Nichols was arraigned at 12:10 p.m. on September 9 in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.
