SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on Thursday morning on State Route 8, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to police, 71-year-old Kenneth G. Wilson, of Franklin, and 69-year-old Donna R. Waterhouse, of Kennerdell, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, a 2014 Ford Escape — driven by Wilson — and a 2018 Toyota RAV4 — driven by Waterhouse — were traveling uphill (south) on 15th Street hill. The Toyota was within sight distance behind the Ford.

Wilson pulled off to the west side of the roadway and into a driveway entrance and then attempted to turn across the southbound lanes on 15th Street Hill to go back down the hill (north).

According to police, Wilson failed to see the Toyota traveling towards him, and he pulled in front of it. The Toyota struck the Ford on the driver’s side door.

The Ford sustained heavy damage to its driver’s side, and the Toyota sustained heavy damage to its front end.

Community Ambulance Service transported Waterhouse to Grove City Hospital for injuries of unknown severity.

Wilson and his passenger — 71-year-old Doris A Wilson, of Franklin — were uninjured, police say.

All occupants were using seat belts.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Lowry’s Towing.

Also assisting on the scene was Franklin Police Department, Franklin City Fire Department, Polk Volunteer Fire Department, and Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department.

Wilson was charged with a traffic violation.
