Kenneth A. Kudlac

Kenneth A. Kudlac, 71, a resident of Lamberton Street, Rocky Grove, died peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in his home with his wife by his side, following a period of declining health.

He was born November 7, 1946, in Nasawaddox, VA a beloved son of the late George P. Kudlac, Sr. and Mary E. Joynes Kudlac.

Ken graduated from Moon Area High School in 1965 and had attended Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA.

Ken proudly served his country during the Vietnam War era as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Ken earned the rank of Sergeant and had served as an intelligence analyst while stationed in Turkey.

Following his honorable discharge from active duty, Ken had worked various union jobs as an electrician; working out of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 712.

He was an active and faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin and was a longtime member of The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. He also had served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister for many years. Ken was one of the founding members and was instrumental in the formation of St. Patrick Community Food Pantry. He was a frequent cook for many church dinners and was a member of the Core Committee of the St. Patrick Church Building Fund.

Ken was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He was married June 11, 1999, to the former Stella E. Baker, who survives.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Cogan and her husband Pete of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and by a step-daughter, Hollie Daugherty of Pittsburgh; in addition to a grandson, Robbie Kudlac.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty Street in Franklin, with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor officiating. Immediately following Mass, full military burial rites will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
