kevinKevin M. Powers, 64, of Estero, FL and formally of Oil City died Saturday June 17, 2017 at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca of an apparent heart attack.

He had driven to Oil City to attend a class reunion in Henry’s Bend on Saturday.

Born Sept. 6, 1952 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Robert W. Powers & Elsie Bukolt Powers.

Kevin was a 1970 graduate of Venango Christian High School and then graduated from Penn State with a degree in Accounting.

Kevin worked many years in the Pittsburgh Area in the Software Industry before relocating to Florida in the early 2000’s.

He was previously married to the former Lynette Mashuda and she survives in Estero, FL.

Kevin was a member of St. John 23rd Catholic Church in Ft. Myers.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fourth Degree.

He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Pittsburgh Sports Fan.

Kevin had been the commentator for Moon High School on the Moon Community Access Channel while living in Pittsburgh.

He is survived by one son, Nicholas Powers & his wife Julie of Peoria, IL; 2 Grandchildren, Hayley and Jacob; one sister, Dr. Kathleen Powers Stafford & her husband James Karpawich of Hudson, OH; 2 brothers, Charles Powers & his wife Marie of Peachtree City, GA, and Robert Powers & his wife Christine of Santa Rose Beach, FL; and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave. Oil City from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in St. Stephen’s Church with Fr. Richard Jones, a family friend, Presiding.

Interment will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
