Keystone SMILES Offers Summer Youth Programs, AmeriCorps Opportunities

KNOX, Pa. (EYT) — Keystone SMILES Community Learning Center has an activity packed summer for children and youth in Clarion, Mercer, and Venango Counties.  

Keystone SMILES is also recruiting a total of 44 AmeriCorps members to serve full time hours in these 3 counties summer youth programs from May 15th-August 15th.

The Keystone SMILES summer youth programs will run Tuesday through Friday, June 12th to August 11th and will include field trips, swimming, a Pirate game, STEM Camps, environmental studies, arts and crafts, family movie nights, and a breakfast, lunch and snack program. 

Join Keystone SMILES Community Learning Center for a “summer to remember.” Program rates range from free to nominal fees, based on family income.

These summer programs are made possible through the service of AmeriCorps members Keystone SMILES Community Learning Center, Inc.  Summer AmeriCorps members enroll to serve as mentors in the following programs in exchange for a living allowance and educational benefits.  Keystone SMILES is currently recruiting for 36 AmeriCorps positions to serve the programs below located in Clarion, Venango, and Mercer Counties and the local programs in Knox, PA.  For detailed benefits for the Quarter Time summer positions click here

Eight additional slots are available at any of the below sites for approved Federal Work-Study students attending Clarion University of PA.

MCHA summer programs, Sharpsville, Sharon, and Farrell. PA, Mercer County — six positions

Venango County summer programs, Oil City, PA — 15 positions total — Specific sites below
