CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) — State police in Clarion say a Knox woman was caught driving under the influence with two children in her car.

According to court documents, on May 17, Clarion-based State Police filed criminal charges against 48-year-old Brenda Lee Feingold, of Knox.

She was arraigned at 10:00 a.m. on May 24 in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office on the following charges:

– DUI: General Impairment/Incompetent of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– DUI: General Impairment (BAC .08 — .10) 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– DUI: Controlled Substance — Schedule 1 — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– DUI: Controlled Substance — Combination Alcohol/Drugs — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor
– Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary

Feingold is free on $5,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on June 12 with Judge Quinn presiding.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 8:31 a.m. on April 30, Troopers Drayer and Pettis were dispatched to a report of a seemingly intoxicated female having a medical emergency along the roadside in the area of 28th Division Highway, Old US 322, in Clarion Township. The female was identified as Brenda Lee Feingold.

That complaint states that upon officers’ arrival, Feingold was seated in the back of an ambulance being checked by EMS personnel. Officers noted that Feingold had glassy, bloodshot red eyes and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her person.

Feingold was asked if she had been drinking, and she replied that she had consumed alcohol the night before and that she was just tired and couldn’t see because of the sun rising as she was driving up the hill. Feingold was slurring her words and having trouble with her balance, according to the complaint.

She refused medical treatment and was released by Clarion Hospital EMS.

The complaint states that Feingold was requested to submit to field sobriety tests. She displayed signs indicative of impairment and was unable to complete the tests due to her inability to balance while standing. A pre-arrest breath test indicated that Feingold had alcohol in her system. She was placed in custody for DUI and transported to Clarion ER for a blood draw.

During the investigation, it was discovered through communication with Clarion Borough Chief William Peck that there were two children under the age of 18 in Feingold’s car. Chief Peck stated that one of his officers took them to a doctor’s appointment, according to the complaint.

On May 10, blood results were received. The report indicates that Feingold’s BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) was .086%. Her blood also contained Methamphetamine 16ng/4mL and Ethanol 86 mg/6dL, the complaint states.
