When Bentley lost consciousness, she called 911 and pulled into a parking lot where paramedics and police responded. Paramedics performed CPR on Bentley before taking him to Butler Memorial Hospital where he later died.

The Butler County Coroner’s office ruled Bentley’s death a homicide after an autopsy was performed on Tuesday. He had cuts and bruises on his body.

Lambing was later found hiding with Herold.

According to Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger, Lambing and Bentley’s mother, Mackenzie Peters, were staying at a Super 8 Motel with their four-month-old infant.

Goldinger said that the mother was at work, and Lambing was watching Bentley. He added that the boy’s mother was interviewed and is not believed to be responsible for her son’s death.

The four-month-old infant is in the custody of Butler County Children, Youth, and Family Services.
