Larry L. Yount passed away May 16, 2017.

Larry was born on August 31, 1938 in Summerville, Pa, the son of John Foster Yount and Hazel Kramer.

He is survived by his wife Sally A. Yount, a son Lance, a daughter Lorrie, two stepsons Gary and Gene Smith, several grandchildren, and his siblings Sandra McDonald, Debbie Popson, Jerri St. Laurent, and Dennis Yount.

Larry had worked as a heavy equipment operator. He also was a member of the NRA and the Eagles.

Facing numerous challenges in life that may have limited him physically, Larry refused to remain bound by those obstacles.

He actively pursued his many interests. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and wildlife watching. This love of the outdoors showed in his varied hobbies such as photography, painting, and taxidermy. He was very talented at those as well as carving and scrimshaw.

Throughout his life, Larry maintained his strong sense of self, family, and humor. He both inspired and enlightened those around him by example and with his fortitude and determination.

Larry L. Yount will be greatly missed but will never be forgotten by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.

At this time, his family is not having a service but will have a memorial celebration of Larry at a later date.

The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn is handling the arrangements.
