Larry Lee Griffith

Mr. Larry Lee Griffith, age 75 of New Bethlehem, PA and most recently Jefferson, Georgia, entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2017.

Mr. Griffith was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Lynn and Sara Hofmeister Griffith and was an Associate Pastor at A Call to Salvation. He was also ordained through Global Awakening and Logos Global Network. Mr. Griffith retired from teaching Physical Education and Health at Redbank Valley High School after thirty-five years. During his time at the school he was involved in coaching football, basketball, golf, and American Legion Baseball.

He was also the inventor of “Griff Ball” – a modified version of kickball and baseball that was embraced by the youth. After twenty years, there are still Griff Ball tournaments each year, even outside of the Redbank school district.

After he retired, he worked along with his wife as Itinerant Pastors, traveling over the globe for fourteen years doing mission work.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman and loved going to Canada fishing and hunting with his sister and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffith is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Parker and a brother Lynn Griffith. Survivors include his wife Jane Livingston Griffith of Jefferson, son, Todd Griffith and his wife Keli of Corsica, PA, daughter, Traci Snell and her husband Allen of Brookville, PA, brother, David Griffith and his wife Lillian of Karns City, PA, sister, Janet Griffith of Johnstown, PA, sister-in-law Elaine Griffith of Grove City, OH, brother-in-law Jim Parker of Goose Creek, SC. Grandchildren, Nicole Amundson and her husband Erickson, Maddison Griffith, Sara Griffith, Jordan Tosh and Chase Snell, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at The Call to Salvation in Jefferson, Georgia with Pastor Arlene Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends at Call to Salvation 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Griffith to The Call to Salvation, 1295 Jackson Trail Road, Jefferson, Georgia, 30549.

An informal memorial gathering will be held in Pennsylvania on Friday, December 29th at the Oakland Church of God in Distant from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Friends are invited to come pay their respects and to celebrate a life well-lived.
