The Cranberry Township Supervisors will hold a rezoning hearing on Thursday morning, 12 Oct, at 9:30 a.m. for the purposes of rezoning several residential properties in the township to commercial C-1.

This is the first of what is expected to be several rezoning efforts to commercialize residential property against the will of the owners. There were vigorous objections raised during the development of the township comprehensive plan but the desires of a few business owners appear to be carrying the day even before the ink is dry on the comp plan.

All residents should be aware that they may be next in the sequence to be manhandled by the heavy hand of local government. You should avail yourselves of the opportunity to witness the proceedings so you will know what to expect when you receive your notice of a rezoning hearing for your property.

By attending the hearing Thursday you will also be showing your support for the owners who are being steamrolled first. I hope to see you there at 9:30 a.m.
