Linda Jane Brown Peterson, 80 of Cochranton died Wednesday March 4, 2015 at the Marquette Hospice House following a 3 week illness.

Born, December 13, 1934 in Meadville, she was the daughter of Paul O. and Edna W. Wood Brown.

She married Milton “Gene” Peterson on November 29, 1958 and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1997.

She graduated from Saegertown High School and in 1955 graduated from the City Hospital School of Nursing.

Linda worked for 40 years at the former City Hospital and presently Meadville Medical Center in the surgery department and retired in 1995.

She was of the Methodist Faith, a member of the E.T.C. Club, and volunteered at the Meadville Free Clinic.

She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, doll making and camping.

Survivors include her son Ricky Peterson and his wife Heather of York Haven, a brother James Brown and his wife Eileen of Cumberland, Rhode Island, many nieces, nephews, friends, and a special friend Nia Holloway.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Paul William “Bill” Brown and a niece Carolyn Brown Guriel.

Friends will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home, Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton on Sunday from 6-8 and also on Monday from 10:00am until Noon.

The funeral service will be noon Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Laura Bair of the Starview United Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Cochranton Volunteer Ambulance Service, E. Adams St., Cochranton or the Marquette Hospice House, in care of Hospice of Crawford County 464 Pine St., Meadville.
